During Apple’s Keynote presentation at the Steve Jobs Theater, Apple showed off the future of Apple products.
Apple continues to push the limits of technology and enhance the ways their users interact with their products.
Starting off with Apple Arcade a monthly gaming subscription that will be available on iPhone, iMacs and Apple TV with the price of $4.99 releasing Sep 19 across 150 countries.
Apple Arcade is going to have 100 games at launch with titles releasing monthly. Apple Arcade has partnered with big game studios such as Konami, Capcom and Annapurna Interactive.
Konami started things off as they demonstrated its new game Frogger in Toy Town developed by Q Games. Capcom demonstrated Shinsekai: Into the Depths an underwater 2D survival game both coming exclusively to Apple Arcade. Both games are exclusive to Apple Arcade
Annapurna Interactive demoed their music endless runner Sayonara Wild Hearts where players will be capturing hearts on foot and in vehicles to help restore balance to the universe. Although not an Apple Arcade exclusive it is expected to be released at launch of Apple Arcade.
Apple TV+ also discussed during their keynote giving more information of what users can expect with Apple’s new TV service. Apple TV+ is expected to launch Nov. 1 priced at $4.99 along with a 1 month free trial.
“A free one year subscription is available to anyone that purchases any new Apple product starting today,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said.
During the keynote a new TV series starring Jason Mamoa titled SEE set in a dystopian future where all humanity have lost their eyesight. Two children born with the ability to see disrupt the peace of the people that feel threatened by the children.
The series is set to release on launch day of Apple TV+ along with new content added monthly.
Tim Cook continued on with the keynote showing the new iPad that will be running its own iPad operating system IpadOS. iPad 7th Generation will be made from 100% recycled aluminum and priced at starting price $329 and a student price for $299.
The 7th Generation iPad will have a 10.2” retina display with 3.5 milionl pixels, 2.5 brighters screen and a 3.7 wider viewing angle.
With iPadOS users will be able to use iPad apps with ease with new features.
Multitasking is now going to be easier with iPadOS having the option to fan out all the opened apps to a sidebar allowing for quick access. A new floating keyboard also helps with multitasking allowing for one handed typing.
The 7th Generation iPad with give the Apple Pencil more features like turning web pages into PDFs and takes notes directly on the PDF seamlessly.
A new Apple Watch was also shown during the keynote the new Apple Watch Series 5 base models will come in silver, gold, space grey, stainless steel and gold priced at $399. As well as a titanium space black and white ceramic models. Cellular models will be priced at $499.
Apple Watch Series 5 will now have the capability to have an always on display. The always on display will dim but will still show the time or work out app in use without raising the wrist.
Series 5 will now include a built in compass that displays the longitude, latitude and elevation. Safety continues to be one of the key features with features such fall detection and the ability to contact emergency services, Apple announced international emergency calling without needing an iPhone nearby.
It wouldn’t be an Apple Keynote without announcing the release of a new iPhone.
Apple showed the iPhone 11 priced at $699, iPhone 11 Pro priced at $999 and iPhone 11 Pro Max priced at $1099 all three scheduled to release Sep. 20. All three phones will be powered by the A13 Bionic chip which Apple stated is the fastest CPU and GPU on any smartphone.
The iPhone 11 model comes in colors red, white, green, purple, yellow and black. It will have a 6.1 inch liquid retina display, Spatial audio and Dolby Atmos to give a more cinematic sound.
The camera on the iPhone 11 will have a dual camera system with wider 26mm camera, and a 12mm Ultra wide camera. When taking a picture now users will able to see a wider shot option to use the ultra wide shot lens. The camera also has a new lighting effect High Key Mono, and Night Mode which turns on automatically when the camera auto detects low light.
As for video the iPhone 11 has a 4K resolution and can use a zoom wheel to transition from wide to ultra wide. The iPhone also has a Cinematic stabilization feature to shoot video without a tripod,
When taking a photo and holding down the capture button the iPhone 11 can start taking video instantly. As far as selfies go the front facing camera has a 12MP Truedepth front facing camera, and can shoot 4K video at 30fps. The front facing camera can also shoot Slo motion video
The iPhone 11 Pro comes in Stainless steel and matte texture finish. Colors for the iPhone 11 Pro come in midnight green, space gray, silver and gold. The Pro will have a 5.8 and 6.5 display OLED, Super Retina XDR Display. The Pro Battery last 4 hours longer than the iPhone XR and the Pro Max 5 hours longer both models will include an 18 watt adapter to charge faster.
FiLMiC teamed up with Apple to have a Pro app exclusive to the App Store which allows for multi camera shots simultaneously showing all 3 rear lenses and the front facing lens while shooting video.
The camera on the Pro models has three lenses a 26 mm f/1.8 wide lens, a 52mm f/2.0 Telephoto and a 13 mm f/2.4 Ultra Wide lens. When taking a photo the iPhone Pro takes nine images adjusting the photo settings and selects the best option once the capture button is pressed.
